Update from Armani's foster mom:
Armani is a gorgeous tweenie, with a red coat as smooth as velvet and his soft ears are so kissable! He is very gentle, good with my kids who are a bit older (junior high), and absolutely loves to play with all his foster siblings! He would not do well in a home with toddlers or grandchildren who visit often, unless you can introduce them slowly, and let Armani come over to sniff and give kisses first!
Armani gets nervous in the car, so he would not be the dog to choose if you plan on taking weekend trips away often. Armani needs a family that will not leave him alone for long periods of time. He has mild separation issues, he just wants to be near me and will lay on a dog bed and patiently wait while I work at my computer or clean the kitchen, etc. Armani is not destructive and hasn't chewed anything other than rawhide chips I give him when I need to leave. He can not be crated, he absolutely despises the crate and he will desperately try to get out the entire time. I gate him in the kitchen, with his comfy dog bed and there are several windows that we have overlooking the backyard for him to see out of. This has been our routine for many months, and it works! Armani would do best in a calm family, with a consistent routine and not alot of hustle and bustle.
If he had a playful. but not assertive, dog buddy to keep him company that would be ideal, he loves to play, wrestle and chase! Housetraining is at almost a 100%, take him out often and watch him go, then he'll be accident free. He loves to go on walks, and it helps him burn energy and relieve some of the anxiety he has if you are going to be leaving him for a bit. If it is snuggle time on the couch, he will calmly lay next to you and enjoys being covered up by blankies.
He will bark if a new visitor comes to the house, but quickly settles down as he realizes it's a welcome guest! Armani is such a loving, loyal dog, he just needs someone to make him feel safe, secure and loved in return.
